A peace officer can at their obligation follow a code of conduct. The primary function of any peace officer as an employee of the state (or govt entity) is to issue citations and generate revenue. They are trained to look at every citizen as a potential criminal in said process of generating revenue. Before 2005 I would have agreed with any of you that "the boys in blue" are there for you, but that is no longer the case. When the SHTF, dont expect the police to protect you and yours. they are under no obligation legally to do so. RE: To serve and protect? - bystander - 06-05-2019 I guess cowardice by LEOs is not a crime. RE: To serve and protect? - MarkD - 06-05-2019 Not often a person is accused of cowardice as bad as this guy is. Snuck away from a shooting in progress he was supposed to respond to. Even if he escapes judgment, he's a pariah. |
