Social media overload on the Mauna - Obie - 08-12-2019 A minor error was made in the well executed plan up on the Mauna. Someone posted that everyone should go up there and live stream the gathering yesterday. That's what happened and it was a disaster. When I saw the post, I thought they must know about some secret communication system that would provide that kind of bandwidth ! Whoops ! Either the leaders didn't know or one of the protesters sent that out and they lost control of it. Is they even more than one tower in that area ?? RE: Social media overload on the Mauna - rainyjim - 08-12-2019 What happened? RE: Social media overload on the Mauna - Obie - 08-12-2019 Their cell phones wouldn't work because they overloaded the system. RE: Social media overload on the Mauna - kalakoa - 08-12-2019 Clearly Verizon et al need to upgrade the tower capacity up there. Anything less would be desecration of the sacred fake news. RE: Social media overload on the Mauna - Chunkster - 08-12-2019 Poetic justice! And that looks like the only sort of justice that will be applied to this situation any time soon. RE: Social media overload on the Mauna - kalakoa - 08-12-2019 No provision to recall the governor in Hawaii, only impeachment, which could be challenging given the lawmakers supporting Mauna Kea occupation. Anyone remember the missle scare? It was a preview... RE: Social media overload on the Mauna - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 08-12-2019 upgrade the tower capacity I heard a new larger taller cell tower would pollute the Mauna Kea watershed, be nuclear powered, shoot lasers at cars on Saddle Road, stand 20 stories high visible from every house on Hawaii Island, and send out electromagnetic waves directly into our brains. But then, if I can connect with my Facebook account faster it would be worth it I guess. RE: Social media overload on the Mauna - kalakoa - 08-12-2019 electromagnetic waves directly into our brains We're getting 5G already? RE: Social media overload on the Mauna - TomK - 08-12-2019 Where was this reported? RE: Social media overload on the Mauna - Obie - 08-12-2019 It wasn't reported. I saw a post on facebook. "We were on the Mauna yesterday and no one, that we asked, had phone service - our phones were dead - I haven’t seen any reference as to why or how this happened. We have always had service there." and this reply. " Too many people, not enough bandwidth. I saw on the official page they even asked everyone up there to turn their phones to airplane mode so that anything important would still be able to come in" |
