I'm surprised they didn't report on the accidental stabbing of a four year old in the neck. The call happened right before the Jack in the box incident.
The child was rushed in cardiac arrest to the hospital. The ambulance probably past all the commotion on the way to the ER.

That's one helluva wild story. Suppose we can assume they weren't shooting to hit suspect. Still, it doesn't inspire much confidence in the police when they can't run down and apprehend a bad dude in a parking lot.

I’m not sure whether this is true or not, but someone who was there (not police) said she drove either in Volcano direction or to Volcano.

Yep kimo it is. So after 5 shots from 2 cops. All missing. Because it was raining( and maybe she had a gun?) They didnt pursue?????????????

South Hilo patrol officers and personnel from the Special Enforcement Unit arrived at the parking lot and attempted to stop the Toyota pickup truck. However, it drove towards an officer who discharged his service weapon. The pickup truck drove past the officer and struck a parked vehicle and then skidded into the driveway of Jack in the Box, where the driver reversed and nearly struck another patrol officer. The patrol officer discharged his service weapon. However, the truck continued west towards the Kilauea Avenue exit and struck a passenger car stopped in traffic.
A short pursuit by a patrol officer was terminated due to hazardous road and traffic conditions.( rain?)
Long as nobody ( like bystanders)got accidently shot.
