Amazing...in just a few minutes and in broad daylight...2 people got away with half a million dollars. Why haven't I seen this on TV? It happened on Monday!!!!

The incident has been classified as an unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle,
If they ever get caught, that charge oughta get them out with $500 bail.

Since the thieves didn't break into the van, that's one possibility. Another is a guard may have dropped his keys? Or left the door unlocked? We do occasionally hear of an armored truck driving down the road and spilling a blizzard of money out the back doors when "someone" forgot to lock or close them properly.

When I was young I would catch an occasional shift running armored cars in NYC. That story smells in a dozen different ways.

I had occasion to watch an armored car servicing a downtown Hilo bank, and it was a one person operation! Same person driving and carrying the money! At some point the bank is insured and we are FDIC insured and more money is printed up, so I guess the guards are just a requirement to reduce paperwork and save the environment.
In other news, $500k is small potatoes. I know a guy that's gonna score $1.5M from the county for an $80k ag lot in Pahoa.
