Have you tried calling the power company at 969-6666? They usually give prerecorded updates that only rarely give an estimated restoration time. At least you'll know if it's been reported and being worked on.

I did call the Helco trouble line. It just said there was an outage between Keaau and Puna and that crews had been dispatched.
Power back on now. Apparently a car ran into a tree and took out the wires on a pole. Then down the street a car was flipped over into the bushes. Must have been a wild Saturday night!
