pets travelling to Hawaii in cabin - leilaniloo - 06-02-2008

since ATA went kaput I can't find an airline that will allow pets to travel in the cabin with their owner when flying into the state.

Does anyone know of an an airline that allows cats in cabin?

If no airline has stepped up to fill the void possibly we can start a email writing campaign to some of these airlines.

I would be willing to put up an online form that people could fill out and email in.

This is a recent post from the HPP discussion board, might be helpful.

If anyone is relocating to or from Hawaii with their pets, we found the Dogtravel Company after a desperate search for a safe way to fly after ATA went out of business. They let dogs sit in the cabin of the plane, no matter how big they are. http://www.dogtravelcompany.net

Dogtravel company is a scam. There are 2 options to get a dog in the cabin:
1-service dogs;
2-$65K for a private jet.
Leilaniloo,I did my research. It's a very important issue for me.If you have any questions,please,e-mail me.

Stillhope...

Why are you calling this legitimate business a scam? Please do a little more research on a company before calling it a scam. [Wink]

Nothing's the same after 9/11.

They let my Chesapeake Bay Retriever go straight on the plane, but gave my Afgan Hound a cavity search and sent him to Guantanamo.[V]

After an extensive search... I haven't found an airline that WON'T allow you to fly your CAT in the cabin with you!

It is just considered a Carry-on Luggage as long as the travel case fits with-in the carry-on dimensions, there shouldn't be a problem.

Stillhope may have a snub nosed dog, which faces more hardships when flying.

Certain airlines restrict specific breeds from traveling in cargo, as well as snub-nose breeds that are prone to respiratory problems, such as bulldogs and pugs. Certain airlines accept snub-nose breeds if it's below a certain temperature.

While "scam" may be a tad harsh, this company doesn't appear to be answer to ATA:

From their website:

Hawaii Open Leg Specials
Open Leg Specials

Hawaii- Los Angeles 12 seats available $2400/seat 5/10
Los Angeles-Hawaii 18 seats available $1400/seat 5/14-5/16

I guess I should have used the words:

"Just because you can't afford this option.... don't call it a scam"

If your pet is truly considered an extended relative to your family.... dropping 65k to have them safe and healthy while you fly with you seems relatively small....(if your really in love with your pet)
