new battery technology - tawyna - 12-23-2021 or thread . As per Robs instruction's . One of Elon Musks ex employees has created with over 200 patents and provincial patents something called = The forever battery . No larger than a deck of cards One charge is 5 minutes and can take a human bean from Smell A to NYC on that single charge Now lets imagine many of us off grid folks here on island like ourselves or maybe even Helco grid tie as an example - this forever battery can last upwards of 1000 complete charges before replacement at a fraction of the cost so no more lead acid in series or gel cell 2 volt and the like. Plus or in addition 2 all EV cars and bicycles . Any thought or perspectives fellow puna webbers not to be confused with Webber grills , please no copy paste I have other thoughts on this new battery technology and will save for future discussion of said topic. How did i do Rob.............. Tawnya RE: new battery technology - Rob Tucker - 12-23-2021 You did fine. I added a subject line for you. RE: new battery technology - kalakoa - 12-23-2021 Where can I buy some of these "forever" batteries? Do they run at a voltage/charge curve that is generally compatible with existing systems? Also, how much do they cost? RE: new battery technology - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 12-23-2021 Any thought or perspective... (I typed it, no cut and paste) I think it's a good idea. RE: new battery technology - tawyna - 12-23-2021 Saw it on You Tube and Jerimiah Babes page on you tube . Mahalo Rob RE: new battery technology - kander - 12-23-2021 Without going into a long dissertation of how outlandish such power density in such a small package as you describe is. I have to put this under vaporware, like flying cars and back to the future hover boards. RE: new battery technology - AaronM - 12-23-2021 The Powerbank is small enough and can be daisy chained together to fit any solar system. RE: new battery technology - MarkP - 12-23-2021 I have never heard of such a battery. Considering what a solar power nerd I am that means it doesn't exist for all practical purposes. Your description of what it can do is also too vague to mean anything. RE: new battery technology - tawyna - 12-23-2021 Kalakoa - About a year ago myself and hubby were at keauu transfer station and an older couple came in with a truck load of 50 watt panels along with two Outback inverters - so i asked them if we could have them and they said yes. So we drove where atlas recycle is to not block ppl who are waiting to dump their opalla and they gave us their entire load and we asked why they were throwing away and answer was they just moved in from mainland and switched over to Helco . By that time several transfer human beans came over and wanted some as well panels so we gave each one four 50 watt panels .the batteries were shot though . and myself and hubby happily came home with a brand new system. Seems like every day has its own set of blessings. We ordered from Dynco in kona a whole new set of sealed gel cell 2 volt batteries and they delivered the next week at alonzos 7-11 west side where the gravel parking space is . Along time friend installed for us - as we know nothing about 12 volt solar power systems..... Tawnya Look u in google search = THE FOREVER BATTERY. Let us know what you find out . mahalo RE: new battery technology - randomq - 12-23-2021 I've seen so many ads and posts on that "forever battery" lately, it strikes me as some kind of stock pump and dump scam. I do know that Amazon will deliver LiFePO4 (lithium polymer) batteries to the Big Island now, and their prices have come way down. Same usable capacity as $1000 flooded lead acid for about $1600, and they should have at least double the life. |
