Dog Behaviorist - taropatch - 09-19-2022 The problem with fostering a mature stray (5 yrs old) is that you don't know the past history. After 16 months, a couple of behavioral problems have come up. Anyone know any good behaviorists, trainers that you might suggest? I found quite a few online in Hilo/Puna but was wondering if any of you have had success with someone. My neighbor used her services, and I was invited to observe and take my dogs along with the trainee on socialization walks. Great balance of professionalism and caring. I was thinking that training puppies is a lot different from working with a mature animal but what do I know. Some breeds like the one I have (we think its Ridgeback or part at least) have a stubborn streak. I'll see what she says.
