Dog Behaviorist - taropatch - 09-19-2022

The problem with fostering a mature stray (5 yrs old) is that you don't know the past history.
After 16 months, a couple of behavioral problems have come up.
Anyone know any good behaviorists, trainers that you might suggest?  I found quite a few online in Hilo/Puna but was wondering if any of you have had success with someone.

She is an outstanding trainer, and if she doesn't do behavior modification, she probably knows someone. My neighbor used her services, and I was invited to observe and take my dogs along with the trainee on socialization walks. Great balance of professionalism and caring.

Mahalo ChunksterK.   I was thinking that training puppies is a lot different from working with a mature animal but what do I know.   Some breeds like the one I have (we think its Ridgeback or part at least) have a stubborn streak.   I'll see what she says.

We've had good luck with Dawn. Beyond basic obedience and behavior issues, she has trained animals for TV and movies etc.
