"Pedestrian" killed on H-130 - TomK - 01-15-2023

"Police investigators determined that a blue Acura sedan was traveling Pāhoa bound in the Number 2 lane (right-hand lane) on Highway 130 when it struck the pedestrian, who was on foot in the vicinity between the Number 1 and Number 2 lane of the Pāhoa-bound section of the highway. It was noted that the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and there were no roadway lights in the area."
This happened at around 5 am today (Sat 14th Jan). It reminds me of a thread I started many years ago:

I’ll admit, I live most of the time in Portland, OR. We have these individuals too. It’s the “I’m broke, homeless, screw you society, I dare you to hit me” mental state. There’s a few versions of it, walking literally in the middle of the street is a common one. The other one, one particular intersection comes to mind is, stand at corner, watch light, soon as it turns green, step into traffic. Just get somebody to run you over, if you live, sue. If you die, oh well.

A few months ago there was some nutter on either Orchidland or Auli'i purposely trying to jump in front of moving cars.
