Learn something new - Punaperson - 10-16-2023

People that love rain are called pluviophiles. It comes from the Latin word “pluvial,” which means rain, and " phile ,” which denotes a thing or a person. Therefore, a pluviophile is a lover of rain, or someone that finds joy and peace of mind during the rain.

How have I lived on the East Side for over 40 years and never heard this word before?

Because you'd have had to learn Latin? And love the rain.

I remember the French word for rain is similar to this Latin term.

Or you could go with Gordon Lightfoot's name- Rainy day people. Not much to be excited about lately for pluviophiles. Pretty dry!

Well, yes, but they're French. Wink They use a fancy term for a picnic even though it's pronounced the same way apart from in a French accent. Most of the time they just put the word "le" in front of an English word and think it's sexy. Smartarses.

I love it.  His spoken words seem to match up quite well with the subtitles.  Tongue

I don't know what you mean, but it's the French and they can't be trusted. Wink
