Takeout containers havenʻt used that in several years and most of what appears to be styrofoam peanuts are actually water soluable. They should dissolve quickly if you run them under water. Packing material? Nothing for it. The only culprits I run into are the occasional and completely stupid bottoms of pre-packaged meat and vegetables. I try to avoid those. Electronics and larger electric devices are packaged with pieces of styrofoam, top, bottom and sides in the box. The way that microplastics are gaining steam, in a few years we'll be mining landfills for polystyrene because it will have more air than the air does. |
