Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - Larry T - 08-01-2008 Why if the average price of gas in the US is less than $3.90 are we paying $4.50??? Do we have anyone in government not taking gas co. money?? Or are they asleep or don't care? I thought a law was pasted to stop this type of ripoff. RE: Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - Jon - 08-01-2008 I think it costs a little more to ship the stuff here.... last time I checked, it was about the same price here as San Diego. Transplanted Texan RE: Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - loffelkopffl - 08-01-2008 for some reason gas went up on the big island in the last week if can.....can RE: Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - Kahunascott - 08-01-2008 quote:Shipping fees 0$.50/ 1000 lbs on everything including gas "Many dreams come true and some have silver linings, I look for my dreams and a pocket full of gold" Led Zeppelin RE: Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - Bob Orts - 08-01-2008 A very interesting piece of information can be found at the gasprices dot com websites. They have charts that plot gas prices for up to 6 years. I just looked at one chart and used Hawaii compared to the US Average, compared to Washington D.C., and also added the crude oil prices into the chart. The US Average and D.C, were almost mirror images (same for just about any mainland area). Hawaii sort of followed the trend but with such rapid spikes and dips that had it been an EKG, you would be in ICU. And, for some reason, there were big disconnects between raising and falling crude prices compared to gasoline prices. Take a look, it is interesting.[] Now if only there was a website that tracks Hawaii's rising fuel cost campared to campaign contributions...... RE: Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - gtill - 08-04-2008 Oil's down to 120, still a lot, but falling. Reinstate drilling (after Govt Shutdown)on expiration of ban date, 1 Oct. Reup equipment, make first substantial strike and we'll be buying back the SUVs. RE: Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - Larry T - 08-04-2008 Did you see Corky today, I think what said it all. http://starbulletin.com/2008/08/05/editorial/corkyed.html RE: Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - loffelkopffl - 08-05-2008 if anyone thinks allowing more drilling for the oil companies is going to reduce our gas prices, they are dreaming RE: Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - macuu222 - 08-05-2008 118 this morning RE: Gas falls below $3.90 a gallon - Guest - 08-05-2008 quote: If drilling were to be allowed everywhere tomorrow, the futures price would drive down the current price of oil overnight. Even if there were a reduction in available stocks. If Israel attacked Iran, prices would double over night due to speculation of uncertain supply. Even if there were a raise in available stocks. If it were announced that the U.S. was going to build 20 nuclear plants, natural gas and coal futures would drop with in an hour of the announcement. That’s the way it works Just a few years ago gasoline was $1.00/ gal , remember that 40 cents of that was tax. That's just the facts! |
