Drafter recommendations - G. Leis - 11-29-2005 We're dissatisfied with the level of service and lack of communication we're getting with our current draftsperson, and are looking for recommendations on a replacement. Taylor McMahel (http://www.mcmaheldesign.com/index.html) has been touted to us and based on the contact I've had with him, I'm inclined to give him a shot. Before I do though, I thought I'd check with the experts here to see if anyone has any comments - good or bad - on their experiences with him. We are also open to suggestions regarding other drafters too. aloha, Gene RE: Drafter recommendations - nanasohana - 11-29-2005 I am using Taylor and am real happy with him. He was very patient with me from the beginning and reasonable with his charges. We like him and look forward to meeting him in person soon. Our plans that he did are in the permiting process right now. RE: Drafter recommendations - David M - 11-29-2005 I too have experience with Taylor. If you are an owner-builder or just plain want prior approval, insist you get to review and discuss the plans BEFORE they go to county for permit process. In my case, it took over a year to get plans and permit to reflect "as built". Partially my fault as I refused to build as they were drawn, but were already in the county process. Taylor does good work. David Ninole Resident |
