Drywall - Brad W - 01-17-2006 Can anyone tell me what they've paid for drywalling. We're drywalling over wood panel, bullnosing the corners, windows, and doorframes, and adding arches at some of the transition points. We agreed up front I would buy all the materials and work as his helper, and that's been cool so far. He's pretty creative, a hard worker, and I like him and his work product. Labor payments are averaging about $30 per hour. Does that seem about right? Mahalo RE: Drywall - loffelkopffl - 01-17-2006 hanging and finishing the drywall was one area i couldn't seem to save any money on in the house i finished a few months back. the total cost including all materials and labor ended up at $6800. i also had the corners and edges bullnosed, and also had the underside of the lanai done. it was a two story house right under 2000sf. RE: Drywall - Lee G - 01-17-2006 Brad, We paid $6,000 for the labor, we bought all the materials. We went with bullnose corners and also on 3 sides of each window. They hung, taped,& muded and textured in 7 days. Also included in the price was installing the R-19 ceiling insulation. about 1900 sq ft total. RE: Drywall - emorata - 01-23-2006 i have four sheets of 1/2 drywall available for free in ainaloa, you would need to pick up. email me if you would like to pick them up. RE: Drywall - Hotzcatz - 02-15-2006 Emorata, Drywall makes a good soil amendment if you can't get anyone to take it away. Crunch it up and put it under your fruit trees, they will enjoy the lime. Most soil on this island is much too acidic and the drywall works to "sweeten" the soil. (Best use for drywall I can think of, I don't have any in my house since I think it is nasty stuff! It melts in the rain.) A hui hou, Cathy |
