Lined up concrete piers for shearwall foundation? - nanasohana - 02-03-2006 I saw a picture of a house underconstruction and piers with straps were lined up to form corners for the shearwalls to set on! If thats inspector approved, that sure is a lot less work them forming and pouring concrete...cheaper I bet. RE: Lined up concrete piers for shearwall foundation? - Royall - 02-03-2006 That is the way our house plans are. The shearwalls are made up with the corner piers 4' apart and then a frame work of 2x4's. It is then covered with the siding extending down to the bottom. RE: Lined up concrete piers for shearwall foundation? - Royall - 02-04-2006 Nancy, I don't think you can change your plans once they have been approved by the county. You would have to talk to the person that drew up the plans to see what other changes would have to be done to allow you to make a major change to your foundation. Royall What goes around comes around! RE: Lined up concrete piers for shearwall foundation? - nanasohana - 02-04-2006 I am thinking the next project! |
