Does anyone know what is the maximum height the posts can be on a structure, before it counts as actual square footage, and how many piers are necessary for a 24' span, any info appreciated

iam not really sure what you are asking, but i believe anything less than 30 inches high such as a deck, landing etc, you dont need a permit for. but.. if you build something on it that is 1 inch over 6 feet high then you need a permit anyway....

typically anything over 5'4" in height from grade to bottom of beam they will consider "open storage" and charge appropriately.
