Yurts 'n' catchment - ArtM - 11-14-2006

I have a friend...

(yes, really, I'm not asking for myself)

... who is interested in buying some land in Puna, then erecting and living in a yurt. However, she says that catchment is a problem with a yurt, in that it's difficult to collect rainwater since there are no eaves and no obvious place to hang gutters.

Anyone have any experience with yurts 'n' catchment?

Mahalo!

We had clients with yurts in Kalapana Sea View Estates and they were able to attach gutters and live on catchment without problems.

Pacific Yurts has an add on upgrade that is a flexible plastic wrap around gutter that allows you to collect all of the surface area water from the roof of the yurt. I saw one installed in Hawaiian Acres and it worked great!

Excellent info from John and Will. I will pass it along to my friend. I'm sure she'll be thrilled.
