Found these 2 sites from "This Old House" with pics of interesting building solutions that a home inspector found. Some are really, uhhhh.... creative. Some make you shudder.

Good stuff.. As an inspector in Tx. you wouldn't believe some of the stuff we see. The things people try to do too, and with, a water heater never seizes to amaze me.
