Construction Loan - StillHope - 01-20-2008 Aloha, everyone! I own a lot in Kalapana Sea View Estates.I am trying to build a small house for myself.I need a consruction loan. Can someone recommend a resonable lender?I have very high credit score and a permanent job.Currently I live in California, but my company has an office in Hilo and I can be transferred. But I don't make much. RE: Construction Loan - John S. Rabi - 01-20-2008 Not all lending companies lend in Lava Zone 1 but if you own your lot free and clear you shouldn't have difficulty getting a construction loan from American Savings Bank or Indymac Bank. I don't know the mortgage brokers on the East side but I am sure the "other" John will give you some options. Aloha, John S. RE: Construction Loan - Dot - 01-20-2008 Hi there, we are building in Nanawale (lava zone 2) and are going thru Damien Ching: Home Mortgage Professionals 820 Piilani St., Suite 102 Hilo, HI 96720 Phone 808-935-9775 Toll-free Phone 1-866-935-9775 He's been great to work with so far, very patient with my 101 questions! Good luck and happy building! Dot RE: Construction Loan - Mike Pritchard - 01-20-2008 I just finished building a house for myself in Paradise Park. I went with Indymac Bank. They have a construction-permanent loan that is a good deal, and they were pretty easy to work with. I also have a high credit score and low yearly income. I tried just about every local mortgage broker and bank with no luck. I got the loan through a mortgage broker friend of a friend in Washington state. She was great. Send me an email if you would like her contact info. Aloha, Mike RE: Construction Loan - John S. Rabi - 01-21-2008 Call Dennis Kaping of Island Home Capital at 896-9995. I just talked to him and mentioned your situation. Aloha, John S. Rabi, ABR,CM,CRB,FHS,RB http://www.JohnRabi.com Typically Tropical Properties "The Next Level of Service!" RE: Construction Loan - StillHope - 01-21-2008 Thank you so much, everyone! I didn't expect so many answers.I am so grateful.Just one correction:my lot is in lava zone 2 ,not 1. RE: Construction Loan - jdirgo - 01-21-2008 StillHope, you are right -- you're in Lava Zone 2. At different times, I have worked with most of the people that have already been recommended. They're good. Another good one is Joy Gillette at Trinity Mortgage. John Dirgo, R, ABR, e-PRO Aloha Coast Realty, LLC 808-987-9243 cell http://www.alohacoastrealty.com |
