thinking of building - force - 02-14-2008
Aloha, my name is matt and I'm a new member here, although I've been living in the hilo area for the last couple years. Before I get into the meat of this post, I have to say I'm amazed at the wealth of information here. This site is a great resource.
Anyways, I'm thinking about buying a lot in fern acres and putting up a kit home. Right now I'm thinking about the HPM 'auli'i 2 bed 1 bath home or the HPM huaka 3 bed 2 bath. Anyone have a recommendation on what contractors to use, or even how much you guys think it would cost to build either of those homes. Any other advice someone wants to toss my way would be appreciated as well.

I would also imagine that HPM would be able to recommend someone.
Rumi in Hawaii just had a house built by Marlon (can't remember his last name) and couldn't say enough wonderful things about him. They have a blog of the process that is very thorough and informative.
