Crude early Hse plan - oink - 04-13-2008 My crude early plan. It needs lots of work before I give it to a pro to convert into a real plan. If it is understandable enough, I would like feedback: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/bldhd/HsePlan01.gif Pua`a S. FL Big Islander to be. RE: Crude early Hse plan - Hotzcatz - 04-13-2008 Rotate the shower area so the shower and toilet have a window and the closet backs up the inside of the house. It is nice to have light and ventilation through the toilet/shower areas and you can ventilate the closet through the floor if it needs more ventilation. It also looks a bit tight between the corner of the closet/center of the house and the eating bar. If the inside corner of the closet areas were put at a forty five degree angle as the eating bar, there'd be more room. Also the porch almost looks too long and narrow, a wide spot for entertaining might be nice. Just my off the cuff two cents. RE: Crude early Hse plan - kani-lehua - 04-13-2008 oink: was wondering if you have tried using some freeware programs that allow you to to do houseplans. i've tried several. the easiest was at floorplanner.com. some are quite difficult for the layperson like me. my next attempt will be using googlesketch. malia paha o lohe aku perhaps they will hear RE: Crude early Hse plan - Carey - 04-13-2008 It looks like bout 3' of space between the breakfast bar & the closet by the master bath, really tight, then add chairs & you lose a passage. Also your DW, when open would block off kitchen on that side of island, if you move it to the other side of the island you would maintain passage. Your breakfast bar is only 1' in depth... you may want to try that, both sitting up to a 1' depth & using 1' for dishes & such... that is a little tight (some are that tight, but 18" is easier to sit at...) RE: Crude early Hse plan - rusty h - 04-13-2008 i personally like the master bedroom in the front of the house so i can see who coming down the drive if im in bed. the main reason is i work graves. i guess if a person works days it wouldnt matter as much. i would put the master closet between the family room and master room and open up the master bath more. give it bigger window space for air flow RE: Crude early Hse plan - oink - 04-13-2008 As for the porch or lanai, I cut that off in the scan. I was thinking 8' front and sides and 12' on the rear with the rear screened. Do you think that would be too narrow? I'm hoping to keep the house fairly small as I fill excess space with junk. I'm also thinking of french or stacking doors at the front of the Family Room so it's open straight through. My idea was that when there are no guests, the Family Room becomes part of the Master. I kind of wanted the whole house to open up when empty except for the two of us. Thanks for the inputs. Keep them comming. So far I'm not having much luck with the Floorplanner program. Pua`a S. RE: Crude early Hse plan - kani-lehua - 04-14-2008 quote: i found the program at floorplanner.com to be very user friendly. the only thing is when i went to save it, it went POOF! into cyberspace and i couldn't log back in for some reason. however, right now i'm trying http://www.google.com/sketchup/index.html if you are like me, it will take some time to learn how to use it. malia paha o lohe aku perhaps they will hear RE: Crude early Hse plan - Bob Orts - 04-15-2008 Oink, for what its worth, if you need a program to do simple, down and dirty, easy to use, nothing fancy, and it's FREE, custom floorplans, just download the Ikea Home Planner software from their site. Very easy and simple to use. This way you can play with the furnishing and layout to see what works and can do simple walkthroughs to see how it looks from ground level. Of course you can't do exteriors, but that's second to the interior layout. Oh, did I mention it's free? [] RE: Crude early Hse plan - oink - 04-26-2008 Another crude plan using FloorOlanner. Unfortunately it did not save properly in FloorPlanner so I will have to do it all over again: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/bldhd/hppdesign.jpg Pua`a S. FL Big Islander to be. RE: Crude early Hse plan - rusty h - 04-26-2008 oink, i wouild put the plumbing in the second bathroom on the same wall as your laundry room. that way the drain and water source is all in one wall. all in all it might not make a big difference either way. |
