Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - Guest - 07-21-2008 It's really very low of people to deface/steal/etc. campaign signs of people running for office. I just noticed that Candidate Ted Hong is offering a $300.00 reward for the destruction of some signs. ------- Rally For the Plan RE: Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - Bob Orts - 07-22-2008 Boo-Who-Who [] If they applied the same standards they require of every other citizen, person, or business, maybe nobody would bother their signs. They exempt themselves from sign ordinances; sign permits, and sign fees while writing ordinances against everyone else. They wrote the laws so they can be above the law. Why do they get the right and nobody else does? [V] RE: Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - loffelkopffl - 07-22-2008 the amount of signs some of these people put up is ridiculous, i've seen ten or more in a row, they are an eyesore, do they think people will vote for them because they put up more signs? and who would waste their time to stop and tear them down, lol RE: Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - StillHope - 07-22-2008 The rival party? RE: Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - Guest - 07-22-2008 I noticed Kale's sign by Luquins had his eyes poked out. [!] ------- Rally For the Plan RE: Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - JerryCarr - 07-22-2008 The signs are unsightly, annoying, turn to rubbish, and don't change anybody's mind. So what's the point? One of my criteria for eliminating candidates from consideration when I can't make up my mind is "annoying or excessive signs." Some people in HPP have left their Emily Naeole signs up since the last election, anticipating that she would run again! (Sorta like those year round Christmas icicle lights.) Isn't there a law that they have to be removed at some point after the election is over? Not that it matters to anybody, but I haven't decided whether to vote for Ms. Naeole this time. It may come down to who annoys me the least. Rant over. Cheers, Jerry RE: Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - Punamom - 07-24-2008 I was told Higa has a printing company and printed a gazillion signs for peanuts.... So this upped the anti and the other candidates wanting to look more popular than that loser Higa had to print more signs ........ Its kinda patriotic to see so many folks involved in this years election. p.s. Billy's signs were designed right here in PUNA! look good huh?[] RE: Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - Kahunascott - 07-24-2008 IMHO these signs should be banned and restricted to private property Most of them are on County or State R/W and that property is ours, the tax payers. By letting the campaigns install these signs on the R/W the County or State is endorsing these candidates. Moreover, we wouldn’t have to be bombarded by them where ever we look.[8] "Many dreams come true and some have silver linings, I look for my dreams and a pocket full of gold" Led Zeppelin RE: Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - Shekelpal - 07-24-2008 Geez, chill out guy. OK? RE: Campaign signs being stolen/defaced....etc. - jimbo - 07-24-2008 I have to agree there are too many signs, and they should be on private property. I find it is unfortunate that some candidates can't afford the signage to let people know they are in the race. I tend to get my info from the county list for registered candidates, and then look for their information/platform on their web site or office. |
