Sour Star Fruit - wjbillock - 10-25-2007

The fruit on my star fruit tree is sour.
They're all a golden yellow like I've seen them at the market.
Is there a trick (fertilizer or something) that makes the fruit taste sweeter?
Do I have to pick and wait a few days?
Help! Smile

Thanks Carie!

But it also says that the tastes between the two are hardly distinguishable.

I've tasted sweeter lemons than these! LOL

Wait until the outer ridges have turned slightly brown to harvest them. This happens in a pretty short time and the difference in taste is amazing! If they're sour they might be under ripe. A woman I met from the Philippines told me her family grills them, which carmelizes the sugar and makes them even sweeter. Good luck!
