Orchidland Vacation Rentals - Carolann R - 04-27-2006 Anyone here that's stayed there? We will be coming out to look at houses end of May or possibly June. Wanna make it as close to "home" and as frugal as possible! (I don't need mints on the pillow - but a shower would be nice, hee, hee...) Mahalo! LOL Enjoy your visit. Comment not related to subject Inn as no personal knowledge of it. David Ninole Resident RE: Orchidland Vacation Rentals - nanasohana - 04-27-2006 I think thats in Pahoa. We stayed in the studio above the pizza place on main street and would not recommend it. Very noisy and suspect activity in the alley below. Maybe in one of the cottages they have down the street? RE: Orchidland Vacation Rentals - msmoto - 04-28-2006 My husband stayed there in January. He does not recommend it. The price was right, but if I were with him he guaranteed me I would not have wanted to stayed there. He said basically it is a charmingly described dump. His cottage was a converted tool shed, it was noisy, had alot of suspicious activity, had other tenants urinating in the parking lot, and a dedicated rooster in love with 3 am. See for yourself...scroll down for some of the Inn. http://www.trakrac.com/bigisland2-06/ RE: Orchidland Vacation Rentals - Carolann R - 04-28-2006 Wow thanks for sharing THOSE photos! I will come back to this point and show my husband! As for the lodging in June - we are just gonna stay at Orchidland Vacation Rentals...it too is a rustic cottage but I saw the photos and am happy we will be comfortable. Now on to the photos - I WISH I WERE THERE NOW!!! Mahalo Nui Loa! Rabi - 04-28-2006 If you want to stay in the Pahoa area you might want to try Hale Makamae, a B&B in Leilani Estates. My friend lives on the same street and she said it's a nice place and the owners are very nice too. 808-965-7015. Aloha, John S. The breakfast were really good, too. RB Byrd http://www.dejavuduband.com Flower Mound, TX RE: Orchidland Vacation Rentals - Carolann R - 04-30-2006 Hale Makamae looks so nice. I've talked to Lee Graves at Orchidland Vacation Rentals...very cute and RUSTIC cottage. Just what the doctor ordered! Punaweb poster Jeff sent me pix...said he and his wife stayed there and it was clean and adequate and very rustic - it'll be like a retreat! (Also said the birdsongs are amazing in the mornings...) We're gonna meet up with Howard Dinits and look at some houses in the Shores/Beaches...etc. Our home here in Tempe nears completion and we hope to have it on the market prior to our trip in June...things are rollin' along!
