Once or twice a year my IPod deletes all the music off of itself, should everyone burn all Apple products because of that?
Apple wants me to upgrade my IPod to the new model every 6 months also, not very customer friendly at all. Then there it the whole battery problem with IPods...

Apple was the least who cared about it's customers. Before, you could only do upgrades to your Mac at a Mac authorized service center. Keep in mind, this was not cheap to do so, as compared to IBM compatibles.
Apple did not allow "generic" brands to make products for their computers. You could only buy Apple branded products for their machines at over-inflated prices!

And let's not forget Apple history...
Xerox invented the windowed operating system, and made it public domain. So Apple uses the idea and then starts suing other companies for doing the same thing.
Apple is a company that wants you to buy buy buy.. that is why it is so difficult to replace the battery in your IPod. An IPod should last for many years, but the batteries they have wont, so why did them make so you hard to change them? So you would have to buy another one, or pay them to replace it.
Then you have IPhones...

In Puna,Linux is free. a huge portion of the windows applications and OSs are stolen. In fact. I would bet that the monetary value of the hot copies of MS products being used today exceed the sum total of all the apple stuff ever sold.
On the lovely Big Island,you could always buy a Microsoft box for a fraction on a Mac and for next to nothing you can build a screaming Linux box, since Linux is FREE. and so is the open sours gnu office suite Open Office.
Not one Punani has ever had to buy a MS product but for some reason many say Bill Gates is running a monopoly..
I can't see how when he has all that competition and there are many flavors of *nix that are free in and around Pahoa.
I think the reason Microsoft has done so well, is they make great products and sell them at a fare price for Hawaiians.
Or else people would use all the many open source stuff out there. Or spring for a Mac.
Apple comes out with the Ipod and within no time they sell a better version at a lessor cost.
They lock you in to a deal with ATT and you throw it away when the battery craps out. How's that for combat marketing of environmentally unsound products. That isn't not good for the Hawaiian environment.

Yes you are correct, I meant IPhone. (and that is an awesome phone)
But did not the ipod mini come out with non replaceable batteries too. You have to get a kit and it is not for the uninitiated.
