50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - EightFingers - 02-05-2009 Any celebrations? Or worse, any protests scheduled? I prefer this to remain nonpolitical and if it gets political, Rob, please delete this! RE: 50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - JerryCarr - 02-05-2009 No offense intended, but I think this belongs in the political forum. I don't see any way this group is going to discuss this topic without going political. Cheers, Jerry RE: 50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - Rob Tucker - 02-05-2009 Hawaiian politics is a fair topic here on Punaweb. I'll put this in the political section. This is also the 100th anniversary of Pahoa. Statehood will have it's celebrations and protests I suspect. Punaweb moderator RE: 50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - Jon - 02-05-2009 I celebrate Hawaiian statehood everyday.... I am sure we will find a shindig to go to... ----------------------------------------------------------- I do not believe that America is better than everybody else... America "IS" everybody else. HBAT RE: 50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - Timkona - 02-05-2009 The best way to protest is to beat up your grandma and grandpa. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaa!! Someday the Politics of NO! will protest farm activities on Ag Land. RE: 50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - Guest - 02-05-2009 Tim... Your getting way over peoples heads. I don't think they understand what you are talking about... and I'm not about to latch on to the bait.[B)] Damon Tucker's Weblog RE: 50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - EightFingers - 02-06-2009 Well there it goes..... At least I know what NOT to talk about when I get here! RE: 50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - Jon - 02-06-2009 It is kind of funny that something like the "50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood" is considered "Political". Coming from a state that also "CHOSE" to join the USA and also has a movement to seceded, the celebrations are never considered "Political". They celebrate the decision's and hard work of our ancestors, grandparents and parents. We did not live in their shoes, we do not know all the issues that had, but we do stand on their shoulders and walk on their graves. We should celebrate the that they made life possible here and now for us and Statehood was what they thought was needed. Who are we to question our betters. ----------------------------------------------------------- I do not believe that America is better than everybody else... America "IS" everybody else. HBAT RE: 50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - amf217 - 02-10-2009 If Hawaii had not chosen statehood, what would it be like? I lean toward a third world. RE: 50th anniversary of Hawaii Statehood in 2009 - Jon - 02-10-2009 Hmmm right now... Chinese or Russian... ----------------------------------------------------------- I do not believe that America is better than everybody else... America "IS" everybody else. HBAT |
