Fishing charters? - rocketman - 03-01-2009

Anyone know of any fishing boat charters out of Hilo? I'll be there next week and can't find any info.
Thanks in advance.

Try Lava Ocean Adventures: 808.966.4200
Their website stinks but I assume they still do fishing charters.

You would be much better off fishing on the Kona side.
Conditions here would have to be ideal for you to enjoy the trip.
Plus many Marlins on the other side.
Not much running right now but we did get a 120lbs Marlin 2 weeks ago.

Scott, just curious, why would marlin prefer one side of the island to the other?

I don't think Scott's talking about what the Marlin prefer as much as what people prefer. The windward side can be like "Victory at Sea".
