SNL Hawaii Skit - Bob Orts - 03-12-2009 Here's what all the talk is about: http://www.hulu.com/watch/61234/saturday-night-live-hawaiian-hotel So, to those who watched it, does it offend? Is it just humor? Does it hit the right spot? RE: SNL Hawaii Skit - Greg - 03-12-2009 Aiona must be an astute polititian to not recognize how exageration is a componant of satire. The skit forgot to mention the canceling of Pahoa High School's annual "March of the Virgins". (One got sick, and the other didn't want to march alone).[] RE: SNL Hawaii Skit - Jon - 03-12-2009 Normal SNL... ----------------------------------------------------------- I do not believe that America is better than everybody else... America "IS" everybody else. HBAT RE: SNL Hawaii Skit - nortonh - 03-12-2009 Duke must have waaaaay too much time on his hands!!! RE: SNL Hawaii Skit - lquade - 03-12-2009 cute... but i can see why it didnt go over: no sex, violence, car crashes.... RE: SNL Hawaii Skit - missydog1 - 03-12-2009 http://www.mauinews.com/page/content.detail/id/515942.html?nav=5031 This reporter was contacting people like myself who had made forum comments on the skit (loved it). I didn't feel I was the best person to represent so I declined the interview. The final story linked above. She only quoted two people, but good quotes. I sat down and read the some 300 comments to the original Honolulu Advertiser story, and they were pretty interesting. Looks like Aiona is losing himself votes with this huhu. RE: SNL Hawaii Skit - EightFingers - 03-12-2009 "Aloha hard" ooooookaaaaaaaay [:p] RE: SNL Hawaii Skit - missydog1 - 03-12-2009 People are already selling Aloha Hard T-shirts. Seriously. RE: SNL Hawaii Skit - punafish - 03-12-2009 By acknowledging the skit and then whining about it, Hawaii leaders actually magnified issues they should have ignored or laughed off. Instead, they drew even more attention to the "truths" behind the jokes. Not good PR imho... And the skit wasn't even that funny...SNL just isn't what it used to be. RE: SNL Hawaii Skit - JerryCarr - 03-12-2009 Punafish got it right on all counts. Not that funny and quite unremarkable except for the politicians' whining. Cheers, Jerry |
