Diamond Drilling - StillHope - 03-17-2009

I don't think Daniel Diamond ( goes by Daniel on PW) and his father

Rodney need to be introduced.

And they certainly don't need any advertisement:I had to wait in the

long line for my water well until rich Kona people finally let the

Diamonds go [Smile].

The job has been done basically in 1 day!

And though it took extra 10 feet than estimated, they haven't charged

me for that! (We are talking at least $700 less!).

It was not easy for me to make the final decision.

My main concern was no water guarantee.

I did my "homework" and found out that Daniel and his father turned

down a very lucrative contract because they were unsure whether they

would deliver the water.

No water guarantee is pretty much standard in the industry.

They could just have done the job...

Basically I realize that if the Diamonds get the contract, they are

pretty sure of the positive outcome.

(Note: they do guarantee the water in HPP).

Thank you,Daniel and Rodney!!

P.S. The water came out much less salty then expected.

My GC tested it and still alive![Big Grin]

Thanks, StillHope. I have not personally used the Diamonds, but I have heard good things about them. Thank you very much for sharing a personal experience. Its always good to know someone that has a direct encounter with a possible contractor.

Daniel, Your price includes all drilling, pumps, holding tanks etc.? Also, we are in Nanawale on Kehau Rd., one lot in from Plumeria at the lower end. According to the topographical maps, we are located below the 400' level. That being said, I know this is going to be expensive, but catchment seems like so much extra work, maintenance etc.

Well, not to say anything negative about the Diamonds, catchment is not the maintenance headache that many people thing it may be -- its just another option, as is a well by the Diamonds. Each has it pluses and minuses.

RE: Diamond Drilling - StillHope - 03-18-2009

Exactly. In my case the big plus is not having a huge "swimming pool" on my tiny city-type lot.
But if you have 3 acres -what the heck![Big Grin]You can have even 3 of those!

RE: Diamond Drilling - Daniel - 03-18-2009

Wow! Thanks Stillhope! Thats very nice of you to share such great things! We enjoy our job and getting to work with all of our customers. It seems like a lot of our friends we met on the job.

RE: Diamond Drilling - Dennis - 03-18-2009

John, do you have an idea of what the cost of a "Top of the Line" catchment system might run?

RE: Diamond Drilling - StillHope - 03-18-2009

Dennis,I found the thread for you with John's recommendations:

http://punaweb.org/Forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5272

The best one I considered is a concrete underground,about $15 K,
more expensive than my well.

RE: Diamond Drilling - Dennis - 03-18-2009

Stillhope, I still am leaning to the well, even though at $70.00 per foot at max 400', 28K. Maybe I can get a neighbor to share the cost when we are ready.

RE: Diamond Drilling - StillHope - 03-19-2009

Dennis,to my understandingyou can share it even after your well is ready.I think your chances are much better, because no risk involved for them.(And you can charge them more for being a chicken[Big Grin][Big Grin][Big Grin])
If you are getting a construction loan,e-mail me : kalapik at yahoo.
Good luck!
