Variegated Banana - PunaCat - 09-05-2009 Does anyone have a line on any gorgeous, beautiful, variegated bananas? I have been wanting one for so long.... I admit it - I'm an addict. What can I say? [] Punacat punacat@gmail.com RE: Variegated Banana - sittall - 09-06-2009 Mine are still green. Try contacting me at the end of Sept. It will be my first crop RE: Variegated Banana - holeinursery - 09-07-2009 I have a decent collection of banana varieties, and would like to trade or buy different types from other growers. My Koa'e (variegated)did not look well last year, and this summer went down hill. Now I am also looking for more pulapula.Contact me here at holeinursey@yahoo.com RE: Variegated Banana - PunaCat - 09-10-2009 Mahalo Sittall - I will definitely drop you a line! I'm soooo excited! Cat RE: Variegated Banana - Hotzcatz - 09-17-2009 If it is white and green one, the a'e a'e banana, those start out varigated as keiki. There is a red and green varigated one which is much easier to find. Kurt Wilson RE: Variegated Banana - StillHope - 09-20-2009 I heard the trees are expensive.Anyway,I'd like to buy one. Any idea how much it will cost? RE: Variegated Banana - Andy - 09-23-2009 Hi stillhope, I bought a very large Ae Ae Banana for about 95.00....yes very expensive when compared to the prices of other Banana varieties, but totally worth it...it is beautiful! Andy RE: Variegated Banana - emorata - 09-23-2009 i have one in a pot, it is very fussy and is not the type of banana you can just leave alone to fend for itself considering the investment involved.....they are very slow growing and not worth the investment unless you don't mind pampering it.....i don't find vendors readily selling it because they are not easy to sell in that price bracket and they know the average person does not have the due diligence to take good care of this variety. noel RE: Variegated Banana - StillHope - 09-23-2009 Thank you,Andy and Emorata. What kind of pampering we are talking about? Anyone succeeded in growing those? RE: Variegated Banana - Andy - 09-23-2009 I would say it needs great drainage and regular feeding to keep it going....it seems many of the other bananas can just be planted and left to themselves as long as they are given some sort of organic matter every once and a while. |
