Home to Hawaii - Carolann R - 08-30-2006

Well, after all my questions and research and our trip to BI in June and three years of remodeling, we are now proud owners of our HOME in HSRE. John tells me choke bananas and I imagine the pineapple and papaya are abundant too, anyone hungry?!

I made reservations for the movers for 22nd September...we'll fly out on the 24th.

Tony gave notice at work today...says it feels "surreal." He's not used to letting go of a job as only had two in the past 20 years and both Toyota dealerships. He's a hard worker and likes turning wrenches but Scottsdale is more and more stressful these days. I'll bet that it felt good knowing he has a job on the Big Island.

We will purchase airfare tonight, make Chuy's appointment for his flea treatment and health certificate for within 7 days of flight just to be safe.

This forum has been invaluable to us for this amazing journey to happen. We could not have done it without the help of so many here. We feel like we already know so many of you. I think we play well together.

I learned about everything from coqui to catchment, lava to Awa...and got answers more than sufficient each time. There are so many amazing minds in Puna and the BI... Tony put it best as he said "it feels like we are going HOME."

Can't wait to see you. Don't forget, the neighbors just bought a Prius, so they're excited to see Tony.

Nothing like having a certified mechanic across the street...

I know we'll all meet at an upcoming Punaweb event! It's a great neighborhood to stroll around and take in Hawaii!! Thanks for your kind words as always, Tim. And Tim - love that Muddy Waters...I used to have cassettes a friend in LA copied from his vinyl of the OKEH sessions...it was awesome - Big Maybelle, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Albert Collins...just to name a few...I really love that music!
