Camping in April - asly - 12-16-2009 So... we are thinking we might possibly camp out the next time we come over at the end of April. Anyone have any suggestions of places to camp, safe and centrally located, near Pahoa? Enjoy the day! Here is a link to the website. http://www.haleohia.com/ No radio or TV's Just nature Royall RE: Camping in April - Carey - 12-17-2009 Uh, Royall, could your forgetting a bunch of stuff have ANYTHING to do with "sitting around getting drunk...." If you are looking at camping the County Permit info is here: https://www.ehawaii.gov/Hawaii_County/camping/exe/campre.cgi also look at cabin camping around the island.... is also fun. The state has camping & cabins.... but the permit stuff is in person or mail...(call first to reserve) There has been a change this fall on the linens & such supplied - ask when calling: The state info is here: http://hawaiistateparks.org/camping/hawaii.cfm National Park site is: http://www.nps.gov/havo/planyourvisit/camp.htm ETA: there are also some private camping, but they seem to come & go, and usually charge more than the public camps. |
