Planting Trees again - pslamont - 10-30-2009 Bob and I are getting more active and mobile every day, plus we have had some awesome workers around. That means we finally finished fencing and are ready for cattle. The ones I viewed a couple weeks ago did not please me so we are still looking. The sheep are so fat and healthy thanks to Craig and Jared, as well as the chickens that are breeding pretty well. The next step was to expand the orchard by 15 more trees, so we have more oranges, tangerines, figs and are trying a couple of mango trees, even though they say at our elevation they won't fruit . We shall see. Has anyone seen any peach, apple, plum or such trees here for sale? I would love to try them out. Just another week in paradise! I want to be the kind of woman that, when my feet hit the floor each morning, the devil says "Oh Crap, She's up!" RE: Planting Trees again - Nalu - 10-31-2009 Paradise Plants has all of the above around early spring when they get their bare root selection in. We have a Dorsett Golden apple and a Florida prince peach. We're at 2100 feet a little below you Pam, and they both do well. The apple tree has given us a few fruit, very tasty, the peach tree does well, then when we get the bad bouts of vog, seems to suffer a bit, but eventually rebounds. Angela RE: Planting Trees again - dcl - 10-31-2009 we pre-ordered our apple trees from bay laurel nursery online last January, they arrived in March I think, we planted them right away and they are growing nicely. They came in through USPS. http://www.baylaurelnursery.com/ RE: Planting Trees again - pslamont - 11-04-2009 Wonderful to hear. I will wait for ordering season and go for it.
