Don't hold your breath if you're looking for black shorts! Found only one style at the mall today and they wanted 46 bucks for them!! Dark blue will have to do!

Can anyone give the history on Hilo's black and white night? I'm just curious how it all started and the focus. I thought when I started reading about black and white night that it was supposed to be a black tie affair, like a "putting on the ritz" event. Is that what it is? Or is it just more casual and everything is themed black and white?

Its like a block party hilo style and created by the local business association to make folks realize how important it was to support local businesses that day and ongoing...especially those special shops that are not on the main drag...
