Got this email from Civil Defense: Event: 12739 Message: The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports a 5.0 magnitude earthquake occurred at 6:30PM HST. The epicenter was located on land in Hamakua District. Please be advised that no tsunami has been generated. Repeat, no tsunami has been generated. Thank you. It screwed up our telescope for a while. I felt it at Kaloli Point but just a quick "whump" lasting a second or so. I felt the ground move a little, wondered if it was a quake, and dismissed it as my imagination because no one around me reacted. |
