yummmmm... coconut candy :-)
I've never made it, but if you have a good recipe I'd sure give it a try!
So, how did it turn out?

I just got through posting a thread on sex shops, and thought that "Coconut Candy" would be a great name for a stripper.

My mom used to make a chewy taffy like coconut candy... always loved it, but never got the recipe....

Is yours a chewy candy, a brittle candy or a fudge like one?

Actually all are good... just would love to revisit the candy mom made!

Here is a recipe that I've got in my online cookbook at Allrecipe.com. Someday I'll make it! Makes 12

Ingredients

* 1 1/2 cups milk
* 4 cups white sugar
* 4 cups flaked coconut
* 1 dash vanilla extract

Directions

1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, stir together milk and sugar until smooth. Heat, without stirring, to between 234 and 240 degrees F (112 to 116 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from the water and placed on a flat surface. Remove from heat and stir in coconut and vanilla. Let cool slightly.
2. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto waxed paper lined sheets and let cool completely.
