Elections Office opens for campaign filings today - Rob Tucker - 02-01-2010
As of today the filing period has opened for all candidates for office.
Anyone want to predict how many candidates will file for Puna Council Distrcit 5?
I will guess five.

Rob and all,
I just want to see viable candidates who have an open ear to the entire community, and strive to improve it. I don't have any opposition to the two who have registered their intentions here. Don't know Loren, but worked with James on the Ag PCDP committee. I look forward to vigoroous campaign season with lots of opportunities for exchanges of views.
That's what's best for district 5...

Well, I know of four for sure, but there might be five or six of us. Picked up my paperwork this morning.
As I have said before, I owe no one anything as a candidate. I am not looking for a job or the money, and only want what is best for all the hard-working citizens of Puna. I make no campaign promises beyond pledging 10% of the salary to local Puna schools for supplies for the keiki.
Let the fun begin. I hope to meet all of you over the next several months.
