Strawberry guava - rbakker - 02-17-2010 There's a patch of strawberry guava on the lot next to ours that seems to be dying. I'm not complaining! Has anyone else seen this? The leaves are dropping off, and it's spreading to the other trees. It could be drought (we're in lower HPP) or someone could've poisoned it - unlikely but possible. Whatever it is, I hope it spreads. RE: Strawberry guava - Rob Tucker - 02-18-2010 No sign of guava die off on my property. RE: Strawberry guava - janeadams - 02-18-2010 The woods are tinder-dry, and many trees and plants shed leaves to conserve moisture during drought conditions. Jane RE: Strawberry guava - JWFITZ - 02-18-2010 Can you describe it? More detail. It's not drought up here. I've got some guava that's afflicted with some sort of virus or wasp issue as well. Just curious if someone's taken matters into their own hands. http://sensiblesimplicity.lefora.com/ RE: Strawberry guava - emorata - 02-19-2010 i agree with jane, thats a natural characteristic of surviving in a dryer environment....hopefully the rains will come back again soon![] Noel Morata Check out my blog about living aloha in East Hawaii http://noelmorata.blogspot.com/ RE: Strawberry guava - rbakker - 02-19-2010 There are brown marks running along sections of the sides of the leaves, sometimes at the tips. Another possibility is salt spray, some trees were cut recently which expose them more to the ocean (about 100 yards away).
