What are the ballpark figures for a slab for a 2000 sq ft house?

RE: Slab Cost - Peter Epperson - 02-19-2010

A couple of years ago the going rate was $12 per sq. ft. I'll bet you could get it for less these days.

RE: Slab Cost - Kapohocat - 02-20-2010

Way less. I would say 50-60% of that $12.

RE: Slab Cost - Blakeyboy1 - 02-20-2010

Based on numbers I have been quoted in the past year I think $10-$12 per square foot is close.

It all depends on what is being included, site conditions, access, etc.

If the underslab sand is already in place and compacted under slab, and you are just looking for 12" forms around a perimeter footing, plus rebar, placed and finished, then figure $8/ft. Maybe 7.

thanks all for you inputs, trying to establish the budget and loan. package home provides the rebar and wire for house and carport pads, (not sure of garage. Pyramid type block with two straps, 1/2" bolts and anchors for concrete pads (what ever that is hahahha). you can see I am a rookie at this and not a builder. thank goodness my son in law is. so with that knowledge do you think cats figures are close and who do you recommend please.

many mahalos
