This Peregrine character is actually a good friend of Graham Ellis.
He goes public and lets people believe that he is the one who complained about GE's business noise which makes neighbors life unbearable.
He makes sure that it's enough dirt on GE in his speech to take people's attention from the real problem.
And among the "dirt" he plants this little "illegal immigrant of 23 years filing for a federal(?) tax brake" thing
which ruins the whole speech credibility
and makes the truth about people's ruined peace next door to GE's business look a big lie!

I would actually be very surprised if Graham Ellis, after 20+ years of developing the Hiccup Circus and SPACE did not acquire detractors. Many people besides Graham have been involved over the years. It is frankly impossible to process that many people over that length of time without conflicts. So I am very willing to accept that not everyone is fond of Graham.
For my part with Punaweb over seven years I have had to boot four people out of over two thousand. I assume these four are not fans of mine. They are entitled to their opinions.
As for SPACE and the issue over Special Use Permit.... part of the problem lies with the county. Puna has been starved for zoning for decades. This has, in my opinion, forced the residents to become very creative in doing business here. Add to that the fact that the county only rarely enforces any codes be it zoning, illegal dumping, unpermited structures. Tucked away in our thousands of acres of marginal AG land are a wide variety of enterprises. Many are non-conforming. Remember also that all of our "substandard" subdivisions were created by act of government who then declines to accept responsibility for the resulting problems.
It is appropriate for the county planning department to respond to complaints. They are responding. There will be an examination of the facts. The facts will likely include an examination of the positive and negative attributes of SPACE. I expect a compromise to be achieved. I have no idea what that compromise will look like. But in most compromises all sides will not be 100% satisfied.
Meanwhile the Puna CDP is again under attack. Under the guise of making it better there are proposals to weaken it in many ways. The PCDP can be a mechanism for resolving many of these lingering issues of community planning or lack thereof. I will support Seaview's decisions on what they as a community feel they need.

It's very common that very little people bother to read the whole thread.Mostly they follow the closest posts which are gone too far from the very important issue.

you can start a new thread about it.
This is not about me.I'd only benefit from SPACE.It doesn't affect me.
