Is Anyone Disappointed? - Samdooby - 02-27-2010

I know I am not the only sick weirdo on this rock...

So I have to ask; is anyone disappointed that nothing happened - Tsunami wise?

In a sick way, I was hoping to see some "action" and maybe some devastation in regards to Hilo Bay?

Be honest...[Wink][B)]

Honestly... I am releived

RE: Is Anyone Disappointed? - David M - 02-27-2010

Absolutely not - relieved that there was no damage and no personal injury.

I do think maybe we need special law that the selfish ***holes that take advantage and loot like the sicko in HPP get to serve a quadruple sentence.

Check out the "action" in Chile, maybe you can get your kicks there.

I completely agree David M. No aloha there, even in a time of suspense and potential crisis. Very glad everything has subsided.

I understand where you're coming from. I would have liked to see some waves pop up over the seawall or something like that but also glad that there was no damage or harm to anyone. A little excitement is good now and then.

Watching the water move back and forth and around Coconut Island was amazing though.

^^^

Thats what I was headed towards Royall. Some cool wave action, bussin up the break-wall...

By no means did I want anyone or any businesses hurt. And yea, the ripping effect at Coconut Island was cool. Mother Nature doing her thing...

Since I wasn't afraid anyone was down at the Bayfront to get hurt, I did feel some disappointment that there wasn't something, even though I sure didn't want anyone's property to get damaged. I think it's natural that after getting into survival mode, staying up all night, filling water barrels, going to the store at 3 am, and so forth - to want the stress to have been for a good reason. Had I under-reacted to the seriousness I wouldn't have felt let down.

I'd say I would have liked to see something interesting and at the same time I'm totally relieved that tomorrow will be business as usual for the islands.

RE: Is Anyone Disappointed? - Sean - 02-27-2010

No. I had no desire for the possible interuption of supplies to the island and less desire for the lines at the gas pumps to continue until the stations went dry.

I looked at the American Samoa pictures and had absolutely nothing but relief at the size of this tsunami.

I think we can all look at this as a reminder that we should be prepared and not need to go to the store in the middle of the night nor have to clog the roads while waiting in line to fill up because we're on empty.
