Has anyone used Autolog for car shipping? - Monty - 03-16-2010

I am trying to ship my car from Atlanta, Georgia to Hilo. Matson wants $3000!

Autolog wants $2100.

Any advice or cautions in dealing with them.

Drive your vehicle to LA, drop off at port and fly back to Georgia. Three weeks later, fly to Hawaii and have vehicle ready for you in Hawaii. You save lots of money and get a nice trip across the US in the process.

We used Pasha for two vehicles and they were terrific

Matson ships from the west coast for $1075.

Big savings if you do drive to LA.

Great Suggestions. Thanks. Its the thought of driving 2300 miles by myself that makes me tired.

Lots of military and corporate transfers have families needing to have cars transported from one end of the country to another. There are "drive away" companies that, for a fee, would line up a driver for your car to your destination. I did it once many years ago and drove someone's Volvo coast to coast. It worked for me. Do a Google on "drive away company". A reputable company will be well insured. I have no idea what it might cost. If you find out post it here.

Fly me to Georgia and I'll drive your car to LA. But then you'll have to fly me back to Hilo!! Sounds like a way to see something of the mainland I haven't seen before! ;-)

Hi Royall,

I may consider it one day. But, After paying your roundtrip airfare and the wear and tear on the car, I can't see how it would save me any money.

Pasha has drop off locations across the country. Nearest to Georgia are Charleston SC, New Orleans & St Louis. www.pashahawii.com

Pasha will also arrange to have your vehicle picked up from anywhere ...from Atlanta, it looks like the shipping charge would be $2500.
