Current Local Shopping Bargains - Chuysmom - 03-27-2010
I would love to know about current food bargains. This could be a really cool thread - please no nasty stuff or opinions about whose store is better...just information. We usually shop at Safeway and WalMart for some things and Costco not as often as I would like.
Today I was at Safeway and they had a few things that were great deals. I went for two things and got way more LOL.
Asparagus - 1.79/lb.
Broccoli Crowns - 1.29/lb.
7 Bone Steak - 1.89/lb. (Great Buy)
Clemetines - 5.99 /5-lb. box (Very Sweet)
I used to have a group of people in Arizona that did this each week. It was great 'cause the sales were different at each store. If you see something here locally that looks like a great deal...I would love to hear about it.
Now we were able to do coupons which are abundant on the ML - but not so much here. So maybe we can keep our eyes open and share what looks like a great deal here. I don't get the paper and the coupon sections anymore. Maybe some of you don't either but noticed something at a great price. Mahalo for sharing!

Here is a bargain I found last week and I thought I would share it. After purchasing the pork chops that were on sale at Safeway last week, I had a sudden urge for Shake n Bake pork chops. (This happens only about once or twice a year...so please don't say anything.) Shake n Bake was $4.79 at Safeway and I refuse to pay prices like that. I decided to look in Walmart, and found their Great Value knock-off version for chicken which has the same exact ingredients if you read the labels. The price was 72 cents. SOLD.

There is no better deal for meat than the Bargain Bin at Sack'N'Save. The meat there usually is priced at 50% off the regular price. The meat there is good only for a day or two though.
