Landscape plan - Yogirl - 06-02-2010 We recently completed our new home and now need to tackle the jungle surrounding it. When we built a home on the mainland a long time ago, the bigger nurseries would provide you with a free landscape plan if you bought so much (a few hundred dollars) worth of plants from them. Does anyone know if any of the local nurseries provide that same service? I have a general idea of what I want but am pretty overwhelmed when I look at that big yard! RE: Landscape plan - Andy - 06-03-2010 I haven't encountered any nurseries that provide such a thing here. On the mainland when I worked retail nursery I would occasionally assist customers with design. In my expereience you get what you pay for. Many designers are professionals and as such charge for such services. If you need assistance locating a designer feel free to contact me via this site. RE: Landscape plan - Yogirl - 06-04-2010 Thanks for responding Andy. Actually a relative used the free service on a couple homes and they were gorgeous. The better nurseries kept a landscape designer on staff and advertised it because it usually generated several thousand dollars in sales. When you are snowbound for 9 months, I guess you tend to lavish time and money on your yard the other 3 months! I've got all my big trees already in place and no money left after last minutes upgrades to the house so I guess filling in with those flowers and bushes to make it special will have to wait a year or two. I will follow up at a later date. Thank you. I think just about everybody here willingly gives starts and cuttings from their own yards to their friends and neighbors. No need to wait. David Ninole Resident RE: Landscape plan - Kelena - 06-07-2010 I talked to Rozette's once, and they will help you, but there was a cost associated with it. If I recall, about $250. RE: Landscape plan - Cagary - 06-07-2010 These people charge $50 for the first hour and $25 an hour after that. http://eveningrainfarm.com/our-nursery/ |
