Vegetable plants - SandyS - 06-25-2010 Wondering where to go to look for a nice variety of vegetable plants? Walmart and Home Depot have a few, but I thought there might be somewhere else I might check out. RE: Vegetable plants - robguz - 06-25-2010 Makuu market usually. But you save so much money just buying packets of seed and things here grow so quickly they're usually the size of vegetables you buy within a month or so. RE: Vegetable plants - Kelena - 06-25-2010 And where do you put those seeds? RE: Vegetable plants - DickWilson - 06-26-2010 I plant my seeds in 3" peat pots in those little green house trays that home depot carries. Keep out of direct sunlight, keep pots damp, most seeds sprout in 4-6 days, when sprouts appear, remove from greenhouse trays, when first true leaves are fully formed, I plant pot and all in my raised beds. dick wilson "Nothing is idiot proof, because idiots are so ingenious!" RE: Vegetable plants - Kelena - 06-28-2010 Thanks, Dick. Sounds easy. Maybe I will start some papayas. |
