Shipping a pickup truck from Texas - rbakker - 07-13-2010

I did a search (honest!) but couldn't find the answer to this question. So many Texans here, if you shipped your vehicle over how did you do it? Straight on the boat in Texas, or did the shipping company transport it to the West Coast, or was it better to drive it to the West Coast yourself? How much did it cost approximately? I'm thinking about shipping a pickup truck.

mahalo!

A friend of mine shipped a truck from Texas. He drove it to L.A., and said it cost about $880 to ship.

That's probably a very old price, I shipped a small SUV from the West Coast to here and it was $1,200.00 on Pasha.

rates going down again end of the month. prices constantly flex. i would say 900-1100 on matson is always in the ballpark. havent heard about the others but once matson lowers rates, other carriers usually follow

We shipped a pickup and an SUV from the East Coast using Pasha, cost about $2K. If you drop off your truck in Dallas and pick up in Hilo, cost would be $1792. Go to www.pashahawaii.com for more info. They also will pick up at your door for an extra fee.

We used this service to arrange shipment of two vehicles from Michigan this month. $1800 each. Cars were delivered in good shape and ahead of schedule. His quote was the same or cheaper than any we got and I liked the idea of doing business with someone on island. Contact him and he will give you a quote right away. http://konacarguy.com

One major difference between Matson and Pasha that Matson ships on an open vessel while Pasha doesn't. We shipped an SUV with Matson a few years ago and it was covered with five inches of salt!

No they don't. Matson has a very nice, built just for vehicles, ship that has them enclosed. It looks like a cruise ship.

Sorry for the misinformation, I guess it's something fairly new, they sure didn't have it three years ago!
