The Bishop Museum Planetarium link:

About halfway down is:

"Perseid Meteor Show
Peak: night of August 12-13 (i.e. stay up late on the evening of the 12th into the early hours of the 13th). Active from July 23 – August 22. No interference from the moon on the peak night of August 12-13 (the moon is a waxing crescent and sets by 9 PM on August 12). The most famous meteor shower, with up to 80 per hour."

What part of the sky should we be watching?

Carol

RE: Perseids... - Carey - 08-11-2010

The tails of the Perseid meteors almost all point up to the Perseus Constellation (hence the name...), towards the Northeast. Best viewing is to the northeast, but at the peak of the Perseid Meteor shower there are about 80 cometsmeteors an hour, and can they be visible in most of the sky.
Edit for wrong stellar ID DUHHHH!
