Lilikoi Cafe in Waimea=ono - csgray - 09-08-2010 We went over to check out Pu'ukohola for taking a field trip with my Hawaiian History class a few weeks ago, and ended up hungry in Waimea. We stumbled across a great little cafe in the Parker Ranch center, right next to where their museum used to be. Killer hot and cold sandwiches, a deli case of all kinds of salad side dishes, and wonderful green salads. 2 of us got very full for less than $20 including dessert and tip. There is also a really great gallery of contemporary Hawaiian artists using tradition techniques in the former museum. Absolutely beautiful work on display. They have a school for Polynesian Arts on site and we got a tour of the studios. Well worth the stop when passing through Waimea. Carol RE: Lilikoi Cafe in Waimea=ono - missydog1 - 09-08-2010 It is ... has been my default lunch stop in Waimea for years. Before it was the Lilikoi Cafe it was the Juice Shack, which I thought was even better, and had a terrific baker who did all their breads and other baked goods from scratch. Lilikoi is still very good. It's sort of Meditteranean in bent but not entirely. Unlike most lunch places, it serves healthy food. In spite of the fact that it's hard to find the first time, it gets plenty of business. RE: Lilikoi Cafe in Waimea=ono - cynmkolohe - 09-09-2010 Your post caught my attention because I was just there today for lunch. Thought maybe we had been at Lilikoi at the same time until I saw the date! Now that I'm working from Clark Realty Waimea office more often, I have made it a habit to stop in for the ham and cheese quiche when I'm at Parker Center for Tuesday morning sales meetings. Love that the quiche comes with a generous serving of fresh fruit. Cynthia Hoskins, R(S) Clark Realty Corporation www.clarkhawaii.com |
