Kurtistown/Ainola Shortcut - katykau - 10-08-2010
Does anyone know if the shortcut to Pahoa from Hawaiian Acres still exists and if so where to find it? Mahalo

just follow road 8 all the way to the end, go left at the "T" then left again when the pavement seems to end. that last left takes you all the way to 130

Road 8 (pavement), left on Road F (still pavement) to Road 9 - first right (stay on pavement) to Ainaloa Blvd (first left) - still on pavement. Take Ainaloa all the way down the hill to Hwy 130 and make a right. Next stop Pahoa.
The reason I keep mentioning pavement is if you leave pavement you made a wrong turn...
