Cucumbers - ChicEco - 10-17-2010 Got worms in my organic potted cucumbers. Any advice? Bag should be large enough to accomodate the cuke at harvesting size. Air and sun can reach the cukes, but moths and caterpillars can't. Works well for all cucurbits (squash family) and tomatoes too. They chomp into the stem of the squash or pumpkin if they can't get at the fruit. Different varieties do better. I'm going to try the Kabocha. The Japanese cukes might do better too. Screen works great, but is tricky w/ the gourd families unless you drape the whole area. |
